Getting out of debt – good and bad to pay debt
I just want a couple of things about how to pay. It is not good and poor to pay a debt, and can make a difference when you start trying to get hits removed from your report.
First, do not let them know your workplace or your bank. They do not entitled to this information, and has no obligation to their giving. The only reason they want is to make it easier to pick on them if they decide to proceed with legal action against you. So I just say "no comment" or "I prefer not to disclose this information."
Second Instead, do not use personal checks for payment. Gives the creditor a wealth of information on where you live, your credit card, and in some cases, driver's license. Some states have made changes to this law.
